I spent my early career in a first-grade classroom, wrangling seven-year-olds and learning the art of patience and empathy. After getting my master’s in Supply Chain, I jumped into the DoD workforce and climbed the ranks until I was leading the Supply Chain Transformation team for all of AMC. But I quickly discovered that no logistics plan would ever stick if the culture wasn’t ready for it. Watching good people drown in toxic dynamics triggered something in me—I realized I cared more about people than logistics.

Soon I found myself back in a “regular” supply-chain/logistics role, fighting my way through a culture so stifling that I literally moved across the world to escape. In Germany, I was asked to take over as supervisor for a team of Americans and local nationals who’d been burned by a hateful boss. Within a few months, the same people who’d all but given up began producing quality work again—simply because I treated them like humans instead of cogs in a machine. Seeing one employee go from “about to be fired” to thriving was my “aha” moment: this is why I exist. By grace, I was transferred back to a Training & Career Management team when I returned back to the States. Finally, I was doing what I know I was created to do. I built and delivered workshops, established a coaching program, and saw client after client speak about their breakthroughs.
