My Story…
Hi, I’m Jamie
I help people gain self-awareness and build relationship intelligence through coaching, speaking, and team event facilitation.

The Backstory: How Counter Culture Coaching Began
In 2015, I completed a temporary assignment as a Supply Chain Transformation Team Lead for the U.S. Army, overseeing a major effort across four commands. On the outside, I looked successful and appeared to “have it all together.”
But privately? I was exhausted and was carrying the weight of everything—showing up at work, raising a family, serving at church, keeping everyone else afloat—while quietly drowning in the pressure. I was the strong one. The capable one. The overachieving people-pleaser who “could handle it all”… until I couldn’t.
I’ll never forget the moment I hit the floor—literally. In the middle of my kitchen, it was a full-on panic attack that brought me to my knees. That day, God broke through the noise of my striving and showed me something I’d been too busy to see:
My priorities didn’t align with His.
And somewhere along the way, I lost touch with who I really was—and what I even wanted.
I spent so long holding it all together that I didn’t realize I was quietly falling apart.
I looked successful… but inside, I felt completely soul-tired and burned-out.
That moment became the turning point.
Through prayer, surrender, and intentional inner work, God began to rebuild me from the inside out. He reminded me of who I was—not just what I could do.
That season transformed me. I began inviting Him into my daily decisions—not just my Sunday worship. Then God planted a vision in my heart for something I didn’t yet understand—Counter Culture. At that point, life coaching and leading team-building sessions was not even a figment of my imagination! I just knew He was calling me to help people live like Jesus: boldly and counter to the culture around us. I even emailed my sister-in-law saying, “I’m probably not qualified, but maybe one day I will be.”
But God was just getting started.
One day on my lunch break, I sketched a logo for “Counter Culture” while working on some small group homework. I even bought a domain name that week. (I later let it expire—because I had no idea what I was doing!) Two years passed before I took my first team-building course and finally saw it in black and white (or yellow and green, if you are a DISC person 😉): I’m a people person. I’d been living disconnected from my design and calling—and it showed. I felt lost and confused and knew deep in my heart that God had more for me.
That clarity led me to blog with friends about God’s transformation in our lives, facilitate small groups with my husband, and keep seeking the Lord. Another two years passed, and in early 2019, a series of events completely redirected my life.
That’s when I discovered Coaching.
I had never even heard of it before—which still blows my mind, because if I had found a faith-based coach in 2015, I think I would’ve gotten unstuck so much sooner. But I believe God’s timing is perfect.
I enrolled in Christian Coach Institute, an ICF-accredited program, and instantly knew: This is it. Coaching wasn’t just a next step—it was a calling. I got certified in 2020 and officially launched Counter Culture Coaching & Consulting, LLC—stepping part-time into my mission to help other women break free from burnout and overwhelm and step into the lives they were created for.
But then… life took another unexpected turn.
My husband and I moved to Germany for an exciting job opportunity with our three kids—right before the world shut down in 2020. It was an isolating season. Our dream to travel Europe was crushed. But even there, God showed up. He nudged me to start sharing my story, and I launched The Enduring Faith Podcast.
Those conversations about His faithfulness are honestly what carried me through.
When we returned home in 2021, it was a tough adjustment—and I still felt God stirring something deeper in me. Then in 2022, He opened a new door: I was offered a role on the training and career development team at work, where I could finally use my spiritual gifts in a meaningful way.
That role gave me the chance to:
- Design and lead a leadership coaching program
- Get certified in DISC and CoreStrengths SDI 2.0
- Facilitate team-building sessions
- Coach emerging leaders in purpose and growth
It gave me both credibility and confidence—and once again, that feeling of “there’s got to be more” came flooding back.
Then, by the grace of God, I was offered the opportunity to take a deferred resignation and finally step full-time into the dream He planted years before. I (re)launched Counter Culture Coaching & Consulting full time to provide faith-based coaching for women who are ready to experience breakthrough, clarify their calling, and lead with conviction.
Since shifting into the training world in 2022, I’ve spent countless hours reading, researching, and doing the inner-healing work I wish I would’ve known to do 20+ years ago. Personality and behavior styles are fun to understand. But once you begin to uncover the root causes and patterns that began in early childhood that affect the way we interact with others, there’s no going back!
So that is where I am now. I’ve never been more passionate about helping people. There is so much to uncover – we’ve just been operating on auto-pilot and assuming there’s nothing we can do about it. But God has shown me that He did not ever intend for our relationships to be so rocky! Our past hurts show up subconsciously, making it difficult to see how our own behaviors are affecting our relationships (at work and in our personal lives).
But the best part is that we don’t have to just accept things the way they are! Once we know better, we can do better. Everyone is capable of changing; it’s just that we all need to understand the map and the compass. And that’s where I get to come in.
My journey hasn’t been fast—or easy—but it’s been guided by the hand of God every step of the way. Right before I submitted my resignation in 2025, He gave me a vision in a dream for this business that gave me confidence to move forward, and the next morning, He led me to Micah 2:13:
“The One who breaks open the way will go up before them; they will break through the gate and go out.”
Now I’m on a mission to help everyone—whether you’re leading a business, a team, yourself, or a family—discover who you are at the core, understand your behavior style and the way you handle stress, and increase your relationship intelligence. You will find joy in becoming who you were created to be.
There is more for you. I’d love to help you and/or your team with my “The People Puzzle™” team development sessions. I use the exclusive Relationship Intelligence Profile™ assessment and report to equip participants with practical tools to understand roots to behavioral differences, how to communicate more effectively, and ways to navigate conflict with greater awareness and compassion.
