As I sat with my boys in the Bucees parking lot today, watching the sun slowly disappear, we talked about God’s glory. We contemplated how difficult it is to look at the sun because of all its glory…and how the Israelites couldn’t look at Moses’ face after he met with God because he was radiating His glory. So bright, it hurts your eyes. Moses had to wear a veil so it didn’t hurt them. But…the day Jesus died, the sky went dark — like an eclipse— and the veil was torn. (A different veil… but both veils kept people from getting too close to God.) But now, because of Jesus, we get to radiate His glory by the way we shine His light in the world. We get to be close, basking in His glory. We get to be transformed and shine for Jesus. I’m so grateful for those sweet, seemingly fleeting moments to talk about Jesus with my teenagers. May He keep transforming us all from glory to glory. 💕
